My emails go to spam — what should I do?

Tips to make sure your emails reach the inbox.

  • Check that your domain has SPF, DKIM and DMARC records — see SPF, DKIM and DMARC.
  • Always send email through your own mail server (via SMTP); use an SMTP plugin instead of the site’s mail() function.
  • Avoid all-caps subject lines, lots of exclamation marks and words like “FREE” or “WIN”.
  • Don’t use a regular mailbox for bulk mailings — it can get the server blacklisted.
  • Check your email’s score on Mail-tester.com.
If incoming mail lands in spam, you can adjust sensitivity and the whitelist under E-mail Manager → Spam Filters in DirectAdmin.
